What you will see on Wednesday 3 June at our Chatham meeting

Ten days from now, on the evening of Wednesday 3 June, GB Freedom Party will hold its first public meeting in Chatham. The launch post earlier this month set out the basics — venue, time, who it’s for. This post is for anyone wondering what they’ll actually take away from being in the room.

The case for a Kent party, told straight

Most political conversation in Kent right now is national. National-tone parties, national-tone messaging, national-tone arguments. We will spend the first part of the evening setting out what a Kent-rooted party actually means, and how it differs in practice from the parties already on offer to Kent and Medway voters. No jargon, no slogans — the plain case.

A walk-through of the policy programme

The second part of the evening is the part of any political proposition most voters say is missing: the detail. We will walk through the policy programme — water, housing, energy, policing, the cost of living — and the costings behind each piece. Not headline lines. The actual numbers, the actual proposed mechanisms, and where each policy intersects with what is happening in Kent now.

For anyone who has read the policy pages on this site, the meeting will fill in the workings. For anyone who hasn’t, it is the fastest way to understand what GB Freedom is proposing without reading thirty pages.

The plan for the next twelve months

The third part is forward-looking. Candidates, target wards, election strategy through 2026 into 2027, and the member-led process by which the party decides direction. Members of GB Freedom set policy, vote on conference resolutions, and have no whip imposed on votes of conscience. That is structural, not a slogan. We will set out how it works in practice — and where existing members and new members fit in.

An open Q&A

The final part of the evening is your questions, our straight answers. If you have a question about Kent housing capacity, water bills, the LGR process, council tax pressures, or anything else affecting Kent and Medway residents — bring it. If you are sceptical, bring that too. We will respond directly.
